  • Mostly Pro-life
  • Little regulation.
  • Lower taxes
  • People have a say on when taxes need to be changed





Democrats
  • Mostly liberals
  • Programs to aid minorities
  • Diplomacy over war
  • Human rights
  •  Mostly Pro-choice
  • Raising minimum wage
  • Immigration
  • Gun control
  • Universal health care
  • Government intervention in economy
  • Large government
  • Higher taxes

Republicans were predicted to win due to the typical midterm voters being mostly older republicans and due to the declining popularity of the president. Republicans won majority for the first time in many years.
